About HCA in Georgia
Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. At our Georgia facilities, we do that by engaging the best physicians and caregivers; providing them the most innovative technologies, services and research; and partnering with our neighbors to deliver better care and a deeper sense of community.
We are proud to be part of HCA, the world's largest and most dynamic provider of health care services. Today, HCA is comprised of locally-managed facilities that include 168 hospitals and 115 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England and employing more than 204,000 people. Approximately 4-5% of all inpatient care delivered in the United States today is provided by HCA teams.
That breadth of service enables many things for our communities. It helps us to deliver high quality, cost-effective healthcare, which has been recognized by The Joint Commission and on the Leapfrog Group's Hospital Safety Score. It enables us to find the successes in each of our facilities and lift them up as best practice to be shared across our family. Our strength also supports our ability to continuously invest back in our communities, our facilities and our teams. In 2015, we invested $115 million back into our Georgia communities through taxes to support our schools, police, roads and through reinvestment in technology, physician specialists and research at our facilities.
